A
great truth of the Bible that
underlies all biblical doctrine from Genesis to Revelation is that God is
Life and the life of man. Jesus taught, "I am come that they might have
life, and that they might have it more abundantly" (Jn. 10:10).
Death held no power nor reality in Christ Jesus' thought, a truth seen in the instances of raising from the dead that he accomplished during his ministry–that of the widow's son at Nain, of Jairus' daughter, of Lazarus of Bethany, and lastly of himself.
